Diablo Immortal's Cross-Server Bout of Realms enters its finals phase on September 7, beginning a five-day run that leads into a third-place match on September 12 and the championship on September 13.

Blizzard's official schedule places the finals from September 7 through September 11 and keeps the competition on the Tower Wars map. The tournament began with registration in late August and a preliminary stage from August 31 to September 4.

The finals are the sharp end of a shorter format

This year's structure is designed to cut out matches that Blizzard considers unnecessary while preserving meaningful competition for teams that remain in contention.

The preliminary stage was split into two points-race phases before the knockout stage. In the opening portion, teams that reached three losses at settlement could be eliminated instead of continuing to play the full older schedule. Survivors carried their points into the second phase, with the best teams moving toward the knockout portion.

Blizzard's published comparison says the old preliminary format could stretch across more rounds before the knockout stage. The new structure reduces that early burden and concentrates the later matches on teams still alive in the tournament.

That makes September 7 the point where the event shifts from qualifying volume to the decisive stretch. The finals run through September 11, followed by the third-place match on September 12 and championship on September 13.

MMORPG.com separately reported the same schedule when Blizzard announced the returning event in August, including the September 7-11 finals window and the use of Tower Wars. That independent confirmation matches Blizzard's own event calendar.

What players should expect this week

The key thing is not to confuse the finals window with a single championship match. September 7 begins the finals stage, but the title itself is scheduled for September 13.

Blizzard is also tying more progression rewards to advancement than before. Teams that reached the second stage of the preliminary points race earn an additional reward milestone, and the eventual champion gets a custom server-wide announcement subject to Blizzard review and approval.

The event sits alongside other limited-time Diablo Immortal activity rather than replacing the rest of the game. Winds of Fortune, for example, is scheduled through September 10 and provides its own temporary reward bonuses. That overlap is useful context for regular players, but it is separate from the competitive Bout of Realms schedule.

For anyone following the tournament, Tower Wars remains the constant. Blizzard describes Bout of Realms as a team competition across servers, and the current event continues to use Tower Wars through its decisive stages.

The larger change is structural. Instead of keeping lower-performing teams in a long preliminary schedule, Blizzard has created earlier elimination points and a more concentrated road to the final. Whether players prefer that format will depend on how much they value additional matches versus a tighter competitive schedule, but the purpose of the change is explicit.

From September 7, the remaining teams are no longer playing just to survive the opening points race. They are moving through the finals week toward the September 13 championship.

For viewers and participants, the dates worth keeping straight are straightforward: finals from September 7-11, third place on September 12, championship on September 13. The event is live now, and the next week determines who gets the final server-wide bragging rights.
